Juvenile Justice

The Office of the Territorial Public Defender represents children under the age of nineteen that are accused of crimes under the Virgin Islands Code. We endeavor to protect the minors right's and guide them through the juvenile justice system. We also work with children that are being transferred to and prosecuted in the adult justice system. This process generally occurs for major felonies. Children as young as 14 years of age can be transferred to the adult system.
