VIPD Investigates Deceased in Annas Retreat

ST. THOMAS – On Monday, August 26, 2019 at approximately 8:00 a.m., Virgin Islands Police Department officers of the Major Crime Unit received notice of a body in the area of Annas Retreat on St. Thomas.

Upon arrival officers inspected the scene and observed the body of a white male face down on the floor in the doorway of the residence, in what appeared to be blood. A preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased male had a history of a medical ailment and there was no sign of forcible entry to the residence. The cause of death is pending until an autopsy is performed. The deceased was removed from the residence by the Medical Examiner’s Office personnel.

The identity of the white male is being withheld until proper notification of the next of kin is achieved. This case is currently under investigation by the Major Crime Unit.
