Smith Bay Bar Robbed By 4 Armed Mask Men Police Asking The Community To Say Something If You See Something

Smith Bay, St. Thomas USVI - On Sunday, July 28, 2019, at approximately 4:15 am, 911 received a call that an armed robbery had just occurred at the Galaxy Bar located at the bottom of Cassi Hill in Smith Bay.

Officers responded and upon arrival to the Galaxy Bar, contact was made with the victims who stated that while closing the bar, four masked men entered the bar armed with big guns.

The victims stated that one of the suspects went to the cash register, and emptied it while another suspect searched one of the victims' purse and another victims' pocket, taking off with approximately $1,200 in total. The suspects immediately fled the area to an unknown location .

The Virgin Islands Police Department is investigating a series of robberies in the St. Thomas-St. John District.

Deputy Chief David Canonnier is asking the community to be more vigilant and to report any and all suspicious activities.

If you are going to be out late at night working or socially, please be aware of your environment and keep as much light on as possible.
