Police Confiscate Seven Pounds of Marijuana

Lucier WilliamsA routine traffic stop ended with police on St. Croix confiscating seven pounds of marijuana.  Lucier Williams, age 45 of Estate St. John was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute.

Police stopped the vehicle Williams was driving because he ran a stop sign in the Gallows Bay area. Police said they noticed that Williams was acting in a nervous manner and asked if he has anything illegal in his vehicle. Williams responded that he had a little bit of marijuana and was detained by police.

While conducting a search of the vehicle for the officers’ safety a large amount of marijuana totaling about seven pounds was found in the rear of the vehicle. Williams was placed under arrest at about 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, December 15 and taken into custody.

Bail for Williams was set at $10,000 and he was remanded to the Golden Grove Adult Correctional Facility.
